Total Meltdown
03:21
|
|||
Across all frequencies a panic stirred and we were unsure if this was happening. The sky turned a bright green, up from the coast to kill the host and begin to feed.
We’re all the same when we’re suffering. We're all the same.
It’s a modern world to live and die. You know we're going to make it, you know we'll be alright.
It’s a modern world to live and die. You know we're going to make it, you know we've got to try.
Rapid images in my head. The building shakes, the earth it quakes and we’ve all been left for dead. Shattered glass on the street, foundations fall the ocean calms and all is quiet for a beat.
It’s a modern world to live and die. You know we're going to make it, you know we'll be alright.
It’s a modern world to live and die. You know we're going to make it, you know we've got to try.
The cowards flee to their shelters, but they were the first ones to go. All systems fail, total meltdown. Time for this reactor to explode.
It’s a modern world to live and die. You know we're going to make it, you know we'll be alright.
It’s a modern world to live and die. You know we're going to make it, you know we've got to try.
It’s a modern world to live and die. You know we're going to make it, you know we'll be just fine.

Tour Song

Where are we now? These highways all look the same.
Is there time to stop and let me stretch my legs? Have we been here before or is it the familiar feeling
I get from a truck stop far away from home.
Never sure about anything but this.
We get to the venue, where can we park? Check in with the bar and see if we get free drinks. Don't anybody leave untill we unload the van. We're the only ones on time, the only ones ever on time.
Never sure about anything but this.
I text the only person who misses me, the only reason to go home. Are you thinking of me, do you hate when I have to go? I give one last look at your picture before sliding it back in my pocket. I can hardly wait to see you
but for now I have to go.
Never sure about anything but this.
I tune my guitar, get fresh batteries, I've got set list written down in sharpie ink. When these doors open up and we walk on to stage you'll finally get to see what's important to me.
Never sure about anything but this.
What's important to me.

The River
03:29
|
|||
They’re some demons in this guitar calling my name fueling my stage
The fog gives the streetlights atmosphere the clouds have cleared
My fingers start freeze were these six strings meet this brisk breeze
My face is wet, not from sweat but from the air
And the river is calling me out
And the devil has dibs on my soul
We meet every night on my walk home when I’m alone
You’re much to real to be in my head even though your dead
I hold your memories close to my heart where the music starts
I’m standing over you looking down I scream but I don’t make a sound
Breathe in so I can see you’re still alive
Breathe out because this time you don’t die
The waves keep crashing against the shore

Say Hello
02:27
|
|||
She’s sexually frustrated
And a little pissed off at the world right now
Then again who isn’t
We’ve all got our own problems to work
You call me again, in the middle of a lonely night
And you say hello with that flirtatious tone in your voice
You’ve got me going with that flirtatious tone when you say hello
And I have to leave but you say please and get down on your knees
You’ve got me going with that flirtatious tone when you say hello
And will do it again, just because we’re fucking doesn’t mean that we’re friends
It’s slightly irritating
Because I still have not figured you out
And what was once so clear
Is now extra complicated
You call me again, in the middle of a lonely night
And you say hello with that flirtatious tone in your voice

Caffeine Culture
04:51
|
|||
When the day breaks the head aches
From all the static of another re-run day
When doing nothing makes me tired, Doing something gets me wired
And 400 milligrams is never enough
So run the water start the coffee, get these cloths off me
And press my head against the cool tile wall
10 minutes later in the rain, I’ve got to catch this southbound train
or my job will be on the line again
It’s this caffeine culture
that gets me up and wears me out
and keeps us in that mindset of there’s nothing more out there for us
I can’t passively wait
for something better to find me
I’m a Fighter I’m a fighter
I will knock you out in the second round
I will hold my ground, never back down
I’ve got to wake up, got shape up
take my coat off and run my punch card
head out onto the floor, I don’t want this life any more
because I feel like I have so much more to offer than this
It’s our kind, yeah we’re part time,
which mean no benefits or sick days
stare blankly at the screen, close my eyes and start to dream
but this dreaming is just a distraction, time to take some action

Distracted
02:39
|
|||
It’s not as bad as it sounds
Or as harsh as it seems
I don’t want you to presume
I’m anyone else but me
I’m just a little distracted
By my past interactions
My lack of attention
And my need for attention
I don’t want to be the voice of reason
Or the one you call on when you need advice
Because if my mistakes have taught me anything
It’s that I’m going to keep screwing this up
I appreciate your patience
But I can’t help from feeling
That I just don’t deserve it
I just don’t deserve you.
And I love it when you smile
But I can’t help from thinking
What it really means
Or what you really mean
